Representation of clients before immigration and civil courts and administrative offices throughout the U.S. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Assist in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, case preparation, tracking and communication of case-related dates and information, and the review and preparation of court submissions, notes and correspondence. Draft and review legal documents for submission during court proceedings and administrative office processes. Prepare and write legal briefs to the Immigration Courts, BIA and Federal Courts of Appeal. Orally prepare clients before court hearings and administrative office interviews. Review legal documents in both English and Chinese languages as and when necessary. Assist in providing outreach and education on immigration policies and laws including political asylum, deportation defense, naturalization, and other forms of legal immigration benefits and relief to Chinese speaking immigrant communities. Manage relationships with clients and counsel, directing strategy for litigation. Analyze claims/litigation to effectively participate in decisions related to resolution strategy. Advise clients on preparation of evidence and testimony in submissions to immigration and civil courts. Work on miscellaneous legal projects within the Litigation Department that may arise.$153,255/yr.
